I had the opportunity to take multi-technique observational drawing classes, where I learned the basics of drawing.
I also had the opportunity to experiment with charcoal and sanguine portraits. It was particularly interesting to recreate these portraits by Mark Tennant and Millet, as the challenge was to draw "only through shadows".

Two wash drawings depicting a street in Strasbourg and a turtle, respectively. For the turtle, the goal was to use reserved areas for the highlights and carefully control the amount of ink to achieve better balance.

These initial pencil sketches are based on studies by Bargue and Jouve. In both cases, the goal is to develop good habits in depicting bodies by considering muscles, movements, and shadows.

Finally, here are the drawings with black liner. The main challenge was capturing the relief, which was difficult to reproduce. The immense amount of details was also very interesting to replicate.
